Mild erythema (redness) will be present in the treatment area and can last from a few hours up to a few days. Treatment areas almost always become red and inflamed.
Immediately following the procedure, patients will experience a mild sunburn sensation that may include some mild discomfort.
Most patients do not feel any significant discomfort; however, an ice pack (not direct ice) may be applied to help soothe areas with discomfort.
It is important to protect your skin from environmental elements; therefore, a lotion with a SPF protection of at least 30 should be used daily. Mineral base is recommended.
A few days post procedure, patients will experience mild peeling of the skin. The peeling is like the effects of sunburn. Continue to follow the skin care regimen offered by Vital Aesthetics.
Do not pick at the peeling skin or rub skin as it may lead to scarring.
Clean the treated area daily with a mild cleanser after 24 hrs. Do not let skin dry out, use post laser gel or Aquaphor for 72 hours, then your regular daily moisturizer. Refrain from using Retinol for 7 days.
Shower as usual but be aware that the treated area may be a little temperature sensitive.

If the treated area develops crusting or a scab, it will start to flake off in 7-14 days. The vessels will fully or partially fade in about the same amount of time. Repeat treatment to veins may be every 7-14 days, or when the skin has fully recovered.

DO NOT ice face or use arnica or bromelain. These agents may interfere with the natural inflammatory process that is critical and responsible for your skin rejuvenation.
Avoid sun tanning and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight for 2 weeks. After 24 hours, always use a full spectrum sunscreen SPF30 or above, mineral based is recommended. When exposed to the sun, wear a hat and apply sunscreen every 2 hours.
DAY 1-3

A sunburn -like effect is normal. The skin will feel tight, dry, sensitive to touch.
Treat skin gently washing with a gentle cleanser, cool water, using hands only and pat dry no earlier than 4 hours after treatment. Redness or sensitivity might well be
present. Some small bruising is common with PRF injections and may last up to 5-7 days and swelling can last 2-4 days depending on how aggressive of a treatment you received.
Avoid strenuous exercises that cause sweating, jacuzzi, sauna or steam baths for 48 hours due to open pores.
May only use Mineral makeup after 24 hours
Sleep on your back with head of bed elevated to minimize swelling or pain as needed
DAY 2-7
Peeling may start 3-5 days after treatment. You will notice skin dryness and flaking.
This is due to an increased turnover of skin cells. Do not pick, scratch, or scrub at treated skin. Allow old skin to flake off naturally and keep moisturized AT ALL TIMES with Hyaluronic Acid serum for extra dry skin every 2 hours if needed.
DAY 5-7
You may restart your regular skin care products and Retin-A once your skin is no longer irritated.
Many patients have noticed continued skin improvement for months following the last treatment.
For best results, we recommend follow up and repeat treatments in 4-6 weeks and a series of 3-5 treatments depending on your personalized care plan.
If you want recommended treatments, this can be done 4 weeks apart. Please keep all follow up appointments if one was made and do not hesitate to call our office if you any questions or concerns (206) 708-5873
