Microneedling

Microneedling

The process of microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, uses a special device to prick the skin with tiny, sterile needles that stimulate the skin’s natural healing process and collagen production. Collagen helps our skin maintain its structure by holding the skin cells together. As we age, this natural substance begins to break down, which can cause the skin to lose its elasticity and create depressions in the skin. Additionally, concerns you may have could be a result of sun damage or acne scarring. Many of these skin concerns, including fine lines, wrinkles, aging, sun-damaged skin, melasma, hyperpigmentation issue, acne scarring, and rough skin texture, can be treated with microneedling and can be performed on all skin types and pigments without risk of hyperpigmentation post-treatment.

This treatment is minimally invasive and can be performed on the face, neck, and décolleté. Microneedling is an advisable alternative to skin procedures that are more invasive and require more downtime. Each patient’s skin condition and personal goals determine the number of needed treatments to achieve the desired result. Patients with moderate to severe acne scars will require more treatments than patients with early signs of aging, such as minimize fine lines and wrinkles. Although it does cause tiny micro-injuries to the skin, the procedure itself only causes minimal discomfort.

Before your microneedling procedure, a topical anesthetic will be applied to make you as comfortable as possible as your safety and comfort are our top priority. You will have mild swelling and redness following your treatment but will subside on its own. Recovery time can take up to five days. A serum may be applied for added benefits after your procedure based on your individual skincare needs and at our discretion. Sun exposure and makeup application following your treatment are not recommended.
